Malachi 1:12-13

12But you profane it when you say that athe Lord’s table is polluted, and its fruit, that is, its food may be despised. 13But you say, bWhat a weariness this is,’ and you snort at it, says the Lord of hosts. cYou bring what has been taken by violence or is lame or sick, and this you bring as your offering! Shall I accept that from your hand? says the Lord.

Malachi 3:14-15

14You have said, d‘It is vain to serve God. eWhat is the profit of our keeping his charge or of walking as in mourning before the Lord of hosts? 15And now we call fthe arrogant blessed. gEvildoers not only prosper but hthey put God to the test and they escape.’”

Luke 15:29

29but he answered his father, ‘Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might icelebrate with my friends.

Luke 19:20-22

20Then another came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your mina, which I kept laid away in ja handkerchief; 21for I was afraid of you, because you are ka severe man. You take lwhat you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ 22He said to him, m‘I will condemn you with your own words, nyou wicked servant! You knew that I was oa severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?

Romans 8:7

7For the mind that is set on the flesh is phostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; qindeed, it cannot.

Romans 9:20
