Malachi 3:2-3

2But awho can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For bhe is like a refiner’s fire and like fullerssoap. 3He will sit cas a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring dofferings in righteousness to the Lord.
Or and they will belong to the Lord, bringers of an offering in righteousness

James 1:2-4

Testing of Your Faith

2 fCount it all joy, my brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church; also verses 16, 19
when you meet trials hof various kinds,
3for you know that ithe testing of your faith jproduces steadfastness. 4And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be kperfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

James 5:11

11Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of lthe steadfastness of Job, and you have seen mthe purpose of the Lord, how nthe Lord is compassionate and merciful.

1 Peter 1:6-7

6In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by ovarious trials, 7so that pthe tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes qthough it is tested by rfire—may be found to result in spraise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Suffering as a Christian

12Beloved, do not be surprised at tthe fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

Revelation of John 3:10

10 uBecause you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try vthose who dwell on the earth.
