Herod Is Perplexed by Jesus

7 eNow fHerod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that gJohn had been raised from the dead, 8 hby some that Elijah had appeared, and iby others that one of the prophets of old had risen.

John 1:21

21And they asked him, “What then? jAre you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you kthe Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”

John 1:25

25They asked him, lThen why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
