Malachi 4:5-6

5 aBehold, I will send you bElijah the prophet cbefore the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. 6And he will dturn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and estrike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”
The Hebrew term rendered  decree of utter destruction refers to things devoted (or set apart) to the Lord (or by the Lord) for destruction


Matthew 11:14

14and if you are willing to accept it, he is gElijah who is to come.

Matthew 17:11-12

11He answered, Elijah does come, and hhe will restore all things. 12But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but idid to him whatever they pleased. jSo also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.”

Mark 9:11-13

11And they asked him, “Why do the scribes say kthat first Elijah must come?” 12And he said to them, Elijah does come first lto restore all things. And mhow is it written of the Son of Man that he should nsuffer many things and obe treated with contempt? 13But I tell you that Elijah has come, and pthey did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.”

John 1:21-24

21And they asked him, “What then? qAre you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you rthe Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” 22So they said to him, “Who are you? We need to give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” 23He said, “I am sthe voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight
Or  crying out, ‘In the wilderness make straight
the way of the Lord,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”

Revelation of John 20:4

4Then I saw uthrones, and vseated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw wthe souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those xwho had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. yThey came to life and zreigned with Christ for a thousand years.
