No One Knows That Day or Hour

32 “But concerning that day or that hour, ^ano one knows, not even the angels in heaven, ^bnor the Son, ^cbut only the Father. 33 ^dBe on guard, ^ekeep awake. ^{▼▼Some manuscripts add and pray} For you do not know when the time will come. 34 ^gIt is like a man ^hgoing on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants ^{▼▼Greek bondservants} in charge, ^jeach with his work, and commands ^kthe doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 ^lTherefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, ^min the evening, or ⁿat midnight, or ^owhen the rooster crows, ^{▼▼That is, the third watch of the night, between midnight and 3 a.m.} or ^qin the morning— 36 lest ^rhe come suddenly and ^sfind you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: ^tStay awake.”
