27And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will astrike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 28But after I am raised up, bI will go before you to Galilee.” 29 cPeter said to him, “Even though they all fall away, I will not.” 30And dJesus said to him, Truly, I tell you, this very night, before ethe rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” 31But fhe said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same.

Jesus Foretells Peter’s Denial

The Greek word for  you (twice in this verse) is plural; in verse 32, all four instances are singular
ithat he might sift you like wheat,
32but jI have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, kstrengthen your brothers.” 33Peter

Scripture Must Be Fulfilled in Jesus

35And he said to them, qWhen I sent you out with no moneybag or knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36He said to them, But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one. 37For I tell you that rthis Scripture must be fulfilled in me: sAnd he was numbered with the transgressors.’ For twhat is written about me has its fulfillment.” 38And they said, “Look, Lord, here are two uswords.” And he said to them, v“It is enough.”
