Mark 15:25-37

25And ait was the third hour
That is, 9 a.m.
when they crucified him.
26And the inscription of the charge against him read, c“The King of the Jews.” 27And with him they crucified two drobbers, eone on his right and one on his left.
Some manuscripts insert verse 28: And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “He was numbered with the transgressors”
29And gthose who passed by derided him, hwagging their heads and saying, iAha! jYou who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, 30save yourself, and come down from the cross!” 31So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying, k“He saved others; lhe cannot save himself. 32Let mthe Christ, nthe King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may osee and believe.” pThose who were crucified with him also reviled him.

The Death of Jesus

33And when the sixth hour
That is, noon
had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
That is, 3 p.m.
34And at the ninth hour Jesus scried with a loud voice, tEloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” 35And some of the bystanders hearing it said, “Behold, he is calling Elijah.” 36And someone ran and filled a sponge with usour wine, put it on a reed vand gave it to him to drink, saying, “Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down.” 37And Jesus wuttered a loud cry and xbreathed his last.

Luke 23:33-46

33 yAnd when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, zone on his right and one on his left. 34And Jesus said, Father, aaforgive them, abfor they know not what they do.”
Some manuscripts omit the sentence  And Jesus . . . what they do
And they cast lots adto divide his garments.
35And aethe people stood by, watching, afbut agthe rulers ahscoffed at him, saying, ai“He saved others; ajlet him save himself, akif he is althe Christ of God, amhis Chosen One!” 36The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and anoffering him sour wine 37and saying, aoIf you are apthe King of the Jews, save yourself!” 38 aqThere was also an inscription over him,
Some manuscripts add in letters of Greek and Latin and Hebrew
This is asthe King of the Jews.”

39 atOne of the criminals who were hanged aurailed at him,
Or blasphemed him
saying, “Are you not awthe Christ? Save yourself and us!”
40But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42And he said, “Jesus, remember me axwhen you come into your kingdom.” 43And he said to him, Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in ayparadise.”

The Death of Jesus

44 azIt was now about the sixth hour,
That is, noon
and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour,
That is, 3 p.m.
45while the sun’s light failed. And bcthe curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46Then Jesus, bdcalling out with a loud voice, said, Father, beinto your hands I bfcommit my spirit!” And having said this bghe breathed his last.

John 19:18-30

18 bhThere they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. 19Pilate bialso wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It read, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.” 20Many of the Jews read this inscription, for bjthe place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek. 21So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.’” 22Pilate answered, bkWhat I have written I have written.”

23 blWhen the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic.
Greek chiton, a long garment worn under the cloak next to the skin
But the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom,
24so they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.” bnThis was to fulfill the Scripture which says,

bo“They divided my garments among them,
and for my clothing they cast lots.”
So the soldiers did these things,
25 bpbut standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus saw his mother and bqthe disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, brWoman, behold, your son!” 27Then he said to the disciple, Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to bshis own home.

The Death of Jesus

28After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now btfinished, said ( buto fulfill the Scripture), bv“I thirst.” 29A jar full of sour wine stood there, bwso they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. 30When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, bx“It is finished,” and he bowed his head and bygave up his spirit.
