to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him.
3And he said to the man with the withered hand, Come here.” 4And he said to them, c“Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent. 5And he dlooked around at them with anger, grieved at etheir hardness of heart, and said to the man, Stretch out your hand.” fHe stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

Luke 6:6-11

A Man with a Withered Hand

6On another Sabbath, ghe entered the synagogue hand was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was withered. 7And the scribes and the Pharisees iwatched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, jso that they might find a reason to accuse him. 8But khe knew their thoughts, and he said to the man with the withered hand, Come and stand here.” And he rose and stood there. 9And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, lis it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to destroy it?” 10And mafter looking around at them all he said to him, “Stretch out your hand.” And nhe did so, and his hand was restored. 11But they were filled with ofury and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.

Luke 13:10-17

A Woman with a Disabling Spirit

10Now phe was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11And behold, there was a woman who had had qa disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. 12When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, Woman, you are freed from your disability.” 13And he rlaid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she sglorified God. 14But tthe ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus uhad healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, v“There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” 15Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! wDoes not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? 16And ought not this woman, xa daughter of Abraham whom ySatan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” 17As he said these things, zall his adversaries were put to shame, and aaall the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.

Luke 23:56

56Then they returned and abprepared spices and ointments.

On the Sabbath they rested acaccording to the commandment.

John 5:9-11

9 adAnd at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.

aeNow that day was the Sabbath.
10So the Jews
The Greek word Ioudaioi refers specifically here to Jewish religious leaders, and others under their influence, who opposed Jesus in that time; also verses 15, 16, 18
said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and agit is not lawful for you to take up your bed.”
11But he answered them, “The man who healed me, that man said to me, Take up your bed, and walk.’

John 5:16-17

16And this was why the Jews ahwere persecuting Jesus, aibecause he was doing these things on the Sabbath. 17But Jesus answered them, My Father is working until now, and I am working.”

John 7:21-24

21Jesus answered them, “I did ajone work, and you all marvel at it. 22 akMoses gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but alfrom the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. 23If on the Sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, amare you angry with me because on the Sabbath I made a man’s whole body well? 24 anDo not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”
