Mark 5:25-43

25And there was a woman awho had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, 26and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. 27She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. 28For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.” 29 bAnd immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her cdisease. 30And Jesus, perceiving in himself that dpower had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, Who touched my garments?” 31And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, Who touched me?’ 32And he looked around to see who had done it. 33But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. 34And he said to her, Daughter, eyour faith has made you well; fgo in peace, and be healed of your gdisease.”

35While he was still speaking, there came from hthe ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why itrouble jthe Teacher any further?” 36But overhearing

what they said, Jesus said to lthe ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”
37And he allowed no one to follow him except mPeter and James and nJohn the brother of James. 38They came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and Jesus

saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly.
39And when he had entered, he said to them, pWhy are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but qsleeping.” 40And they laughed at him. But he rput them all outside and took the child’s father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was. 41 sTaking her by the hand he said to her, Talitha cumi,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, tarise.” 42And immediately the girl got up and began walking (for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement. 43And uhe strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.

Luke 8:43-56

said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!”
46But Jesus said, Someone touched me, for I perceive that abpower has gone out from me.” 47And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. 48And he said to her, Daughter, acyour faith has made you well; adgo in peace.”

49While he was still speaking, someone from aethe ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; afdo not trouble agthe Teacher any more.” 50But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.” 51And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except ahPeter and aiJohn and James, and the father and mother of the child. 52And all were weeping and ajmourning for her, but he aksaid, “Do not weep, for alshe is not dead but amsleeping.” 53And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54But antaking her by the hand he called, saying, Child, aoarise.” 55And apher spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat. 56And her parents were amazed, but aqhe charged them to tell no one what had happened.
