Jesus Walks on the Water

45 aImmediately he bmade his disciples get into cthe boat and go before him to the other side, dto Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. 46And after he had taken leave of them, ehe went up on the mountain to pray. 47And when fevening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. 48And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about gthe fourth watch of the night
That is, between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.
he came to them, walking on the sea. iHe meant to pass by them,
49but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, 50for they all saw him and jwere terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, k“Take heart; it is I. lDo not be afraid.” 51And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, 52for mthey did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts nwere hardened.

Jesus Heals the Sick in Gennesaret

53 oWhen they had crossed over, they came to land at pGennesaret and moored to the shore. 54And when they got out of the boat, the people immediately qrecognized him 55and ran about the whole region and began to bring rthe sick people son their beds to wherever they heard he was. 56And wherever he came, in villages, cities, or countryside, tthey laid the sick in the marketplaces and implored him that they might touch even uthe fringe of his garment. And vas many as touched it were made well.

Jesus Walks on Water

16When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, 17got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. 19When they had rowed about three or four miles,
Greek twenty-five or thirty stadia; a stadion was about 607 feet or 185 meters
they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened.
20 xBut he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” 21Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.
