Mark 7:11-13

11 But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God) ^{▼▼Or an offering}— 12 then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, 13 thus ^bmaking void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

The Widow’s Offering

41 ^cAnd he sat down opposite ^dthe treasury and watched the people ^eputting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. 42 And a poor widow came and put in two ^fsmall copper coins, which make a penny. ^{▼▼Greek two lepta, which make a kodrantes; a kodrantes (Latin quadrans) was a Roman copper coin worth about 1/64 of a denarius (which was a day’s wage for a laborer)} 43 And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, ^hthis poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. 44 For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her ⁱpoverty has put in everything she had, all ^jshe had to live on.”
