Sexual Immorality Defiles the Church

1It is actually reported that there is isexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, jfor a man has his father’s wife. 2And kyou are arrogant! Ought you lnot rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

3For though mabsent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. 4When you are assembled nin the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5you are oto deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so pthat his spirit may be saved qin the day of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 6:15-20

15Do you not know that zyour bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16Or do you not know that he who is joined
Or  who holds fast (compare Genesis 2:24 and Deuteronomy 10:20); also verse 17
to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, ab“The two will become one flesh.”
17But he who is joined to the Lord acbecomes one spirit with him. 18 adFlee from sexual immorality. Every other sin
Or  Every sin
a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person afsins against his own body.
19Or agdo you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? ahYou are not your own, 20 aifor you were bought with a price. ajSo glorify God in your body.
