The Transfiguration

2 ^aAnd after six days Jesus took with him ^bPeter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was ^ctransfigured before them, 3 and ^dhis clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one ^{▼▼Greek launderer (gnapheus)} on earth could bleach them. 4 And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. 5 And Peter said to Jesus, ^f“Rabbi, ^{▼▼ Rabbi means my teacher, or my master} it is good that we are here. Let us make three ^htents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 6 For ⁱhe did not know what to say, for they were terrified. 7 And ^ja cloud overshadowed them, and ^ka voice came out of the cloud, ^l“This is my beloved Son; ^{▼▼Or my Son, my (or the) Beloved} ⁿlisten to him.” 8 And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus only.

9 ^oAnd as they were coming down the mountain, ^phe charged them to tell no one what they had seen, ^quntil the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 ^rSo they kept the matter to themselves, ^squestioning what this rising from the dead might mean.

Luke 9:28-36

The Transfiguration

28 ^tNow about eight days after these sayings he took with him ^uPeter and John and James and ^vwent up on the mountain to pray. 29 And as he was praying, the appearance of his face was ^waltered, and ^xhis clothing became dazzling white. 30 And behold, two men were talking with him, Moses and Elijah, 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, ^{▼▼Greek exodus} which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. 32 Now Peter and those who were with him ^zwere heavy with sleep, but when they became fully awake ^aathey saw his glory and the two men who stood with him. 33 And as the men were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here. Let us make three ^abtents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah”— ^acnot knowing what he said. 34 As he was saying these things, ^ada cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 And ^aea voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, ^afmy Chosen One; ^{▼▼Some manuscripts my Beloved} ^ahlisten to him!” 36 And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. ^aiAnd they kept silent and told no one in those days anything of what they had seen.
