The Twelve Apostles

1 aAnd he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. 2 bThe names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, cwho is called Peter, and dAndrew his brother; eJames the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and fMatthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;

Mark 6:7-13

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles

7 iAnd he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 8He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a staffno bread, no bag, no money in their belts 9but to jwear sandals and not put on two tunics.

10And he said to them, Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you depart from there. 11And if any place will not receive you and they will not listen to you, when you leave, lshake off the dust that is on your feet mas a testimony against them.” 12 nSo they went out and oproclaimed pthat people should repent. 13 qAnd they cast out many demons and ranointed with oil many who were sick and healed them.
