and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. 5 jThey do all their deeds kto be seen by others. Beware of the Scribes
45 tAnd in the hearing of all the people he said to his disciples, 46“Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces and the best seats in the synagogues and uthe places of honor at feasts, 47 vwho devour widows’ houses and wfor a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
