Matthew 10:37-38

37 aWhoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38And bwhoever does not take his cross and cfollow me is not worthy of me.

Luke 8:14

14And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but das they go on their way they are choked by the ecares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.

Luke 9:59-62

59To another he said, Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 60And Jesus
Greek he
said to him, Leave gthe dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and hproclaim the kingdom of God.”
61Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, ibut let me first say farewell to those at my home.” 62Jesus said to him, j“No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Luke 12:15

15And he said to them, k“Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

Luke 14:26-33

26 lIf anyone comes to me and mdoes not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, nyes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27 oWhoever does not pbear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. 28For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not qfirst sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 29Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ 31Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not rsit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. 33 sSo therefore, any one of you who tdoes not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.

Luke 18:22-25

22When Jesus heard this, he said to him, One thing you still lack. uSell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have vtreasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 23 wBut when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. 24Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said, xHow difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter ythe kingdom of God! 25For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter zthe kingdom of God.”

Luke 21:34
