Matthew 11:13-14

13 aFor all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John, 14and if you are willing to accept it, he is bElijah who is to come.

Matthew 14:5

5And though he wanted to put him to death, che feared the people, because they held him to be da prophet.

Matthew 17:12-13

12But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but edid to him whatever they pleased. fSo also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.” 13 gThen the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.

Matthew 21:24-26

24Jesus answered them, “I also will ask you one question, and if you tell me the answer, then I also will tell you by what authority I do these things. 25The baptism of John, hfrom where did it come? iFrom heaven or from man?” And they discussed it among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say to us, jWhy then did you not believe him?’ 26But if we say, ‘From man,’ kwe are afraid of the crowd, for they all hold that John was la prophet.”

Mark 9:11-13

11And they asked him, “Why do the scribes say mthat first Elijah must come?” 12And he said to them, Elijah does come first nto restore all things. And ohow is it written of the Son of Man that he should psuffer many things and qbe treated with contempt? 13But I tell you that Elijah has come, and rthey did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.”

Luke 1:15-17

15for he will be sgreat before the Lord. And the must not drink wine or strong udrink, and vhe will be wfilled with the Holy Spirit, xeven from his mother’s womb. 16And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, 17and yhe will go before him zin the spirit and power of Elijah, aato turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and abthe disobedient to the wisdom of the just, acto make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”
