The Sign of Jonah

38Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, awe wish to see a sign from you.” 39But he answered them, b“An evil and cadulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

1 dAnd the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and eto test him fthey asked him to show them ga sign from heaven. 2He answered them,

i“When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’
3And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ jYou know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret kthe signs of the times. 4 lAn evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So mhe left them and departed.

Mark 8:11-12
