Matthew 15:11-20
11 ait is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” 12Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were boffended when they heard this saying?” 13He answered, c“Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted dwill be rooted up. 14Let them alone; ethey are blind guides. ▼▼Some manuscripts add of the blind
And gif the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15But Peter said to him, h“Explain the parable to us.” 16And he said, i“Are you also still without understanding? 17Do you not see that jwhatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled? ▼▼Greek is expelled into the latrine
18But lwhat comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. 19For out of the heart come mevil thoughts, nmurder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, oslander. 20 pThese are what defile a person. But qto eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.” Mark 7:15
15 rThere is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.” ▼▼Some manuscripts add verse 16: If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear
