The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother. 26So too the second and third, down to the seventh. 27After them all, the woman died. 28In the resurrection, therefore, of the seven, whose wife will she be? For they all had her.”

29But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, lbecause you know neither the Scriptures nor mthe power of God. 30For in the resurrection they neither nmarry nor oare given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. 31And as for the resurrection of the dead, phave you not read what was said to you by God: 32 qI am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead, but of the living.” 33And when the crowd heard it, rthey were astonished at his teaching.

And the third likewise. 22And the seven left no offspring. Last of all the woman also died. 23In the resurrection, when they rise again, whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as wife.”

24Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are wrong, because wyou know neither the Scriptures nor xthe power of God? 25For when they rise from the dead, they neither ymarry nor zare given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. 26And as for the dead being raised, aahave you not read in abthe book of Moses, in acthe passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, adI am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? 27He is not God of the dead, but of the living. You are quite wrong.”
