The Pharisees and Sadducees Demand Signs

1 aAnd the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and bto test him cthey asked him to show them da sign from heaven. 2He answered them,
Some manuscripts omit the following words to the end of verse 3
f“When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’
3And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ gYou know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret hthe signs of the times. 4 iAn evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So jhe left them and departed.

Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection

21 kFrom that time Jesus began to show his disciples that lhe must go to Jerusalem and msuffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on nthe third day be raised.

Matthew 16:27

27 oFor the Son of Man is going to come with phis angels in the glory of his Father, and qthen he will repay each person according to what he has done.
