Some manuscripts omit the following words to the end of verse 3
f“When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’
3And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ gYou know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret hthe signs of the times. 4 iAn evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So jhe left them and departed.

Luke 12:51-57

51 kDo you think that I have come to give peace on earth? lNo, I tell you, but rather division. 52For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. 53They will be divided, mfather against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”

Interpreting the Time

54He also said to the crowds, nWhen you see oa cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A shower is coming.’ And so it happens. 55And pwhen you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be qscorching heat,’ and it happens. 56You hypocrites! rYou know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?
