Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection

21 aFrom that time Jesus began to show his disciples that bhe must go to Jerusalem and csuffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on dthe third day be raised.

Matthew 20:19

19and edeliver him over to the Gentiles fto be mocked and flogged and gcrucified, and he will be raised on hthe third day.”

Matthew 27:63-64

63and said, “Sir, we remember how ithat impostor said, while he was still alive, jAfter three days I will rise.’ 64Therefore order the tomb to be made secure until the third day, klest his disciples go and steal him away and tell the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last fraud will be worse than the first.”

Mark 9:9-10

9 lAnd as they were coming down the mountain, mhe charged them to tell no one what they had seen, nuntil the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 oSo they kept the matter to themselves, pquestioning what this rising from the dead might mean.

Luke 18:33-34

33And after flogging him, they will kill him, and on qthe third day he will rise.” 34 rBut they understood none of these things. sThis saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said.
