Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection

21 aFrom that time Jesus began to show his disciples that bhe must go to Jerusalem and csuffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on dthe third day be raised. 22And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord!
Or “[May God be] merciful to you, Lord!”
This shall never happen to you.”

Mark 8:31-33

31 fAnd he began to teach them that gthe Son of Man must hsuffer many things and ibe rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and jafter three days rise again. 32And he said this kplainly. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. 33But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, lGet behind me, Satan! For you mare not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

Mark 9:9-10

9 nAnd as they were coming down the mountain, ohe charged them to tell no one what they had seen, puntil the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 qSo they kept the matter to themselves, rquestioning what this rising from the dead might mean.

Mark 9:31-32

31for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, safter three days he will rise.” 32 tBut they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

Luke 9:45

45 uBut they did not understand this saying, and vit was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

Luke 18:33-34

33And after flogging him, they will kill him, and on wthe third day he will rise.” 34 xBut they understood none of these things. yThis saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said.

Luke 24:26

26 zWas it not necessary that aathe Christ should suffer these things and enter into abhis glory?”
