Matthew 17:11-13

11 He answered, “Elijah does come, and ^ahe will restore all things. 12 But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but ^bdid to him whatever they pleased. ^cSo also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.” 13 ^dThen the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.

Matthew 27:47-49

47 And some of the bystanders, hearing it, said, “This man is calling Elijah.” 48 And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with ^esour wine, and put it on a reed and ^fgave it to him to drink. 49 But the others said, “Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him.”

Mark 9:11-13

11 And they asked him, “Why do the scribes say ^gthat first Elijah must come?” 12 And he said to them, “Elijah does come first ^hto restore all things. And ⁱhow is it written of the Son of Man that he should ^jsuffer many things and ^kbe treated with contempt? 13 But I tell you that Elijah has come, and ^lthey did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.”
