Matthew 17:11-13

11He answered, Elijah does come, and ahe will restore all things. 12But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but bdid to him whatever they pleased. cSo also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.” 13 dThen the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.

Matthew 27:47-49

47And some of the bystanders, hearing it, said, “This man is calling Elijah.” 48And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with esour wine, and put it on a reed and fgave it to him to drink. 49But the others said, “Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him.”

Mark 9:11-13

11And they asked him, “Why do the scribes say gthat first Elijah must come?” 12And he said to them, Elijah does come first hto restore all things. And ihow is it written of the Son of Man that he should jsuffer many things and kbe treated with contempt? 13But I tell you that Elijah has come, and lthey did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.”
