Jesus Foretells His Death a Third Time

17 dAnd as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them, 18See, ewe are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will fcondemn him to death 19and gdeliver him over to the Gentiles hto be mocked and flogged and icrucified, and he will be raised on jthe third day.”

31 rAnd he began to teach them that sthe Son of Man must tsuffer many things and ube rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and vafter three days rise again.

31for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, wafter three days he will rise.” 32 xBut they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

And agafter three days he will rise.”
