2After agreeing with the laborers for a denarius
A  denarius was a day’s wage for a laborer
a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

Matthew 20:6-7

6And babout the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing. And he said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’ 7They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’

Luke 23:40-43

40But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42And he said, “Jesus, remember me cwhen you come into your kingdom.” 43And he said to him, Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in dparadise.”

6just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:

Romans 5:20-21
