Matthew 21:34-40

34When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants
Greek bondservants; also verses 35, 36
to the tenants bto get his fruit.
35 cAnd the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and dstoned another. 36 eAgain he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them. 37Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, fThis is the heir. Come, glet us kill him and have his inheritance.’ 39And they took him and hthrew him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 iWhen therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”

Luke 20:10-14

to the tenants, so that kthey would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. lBut the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
11 mAnd nhe sent another servant. But they also beat and otreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. 12 pAnd he sent yet a third. This one also they wounded and cast out. 13Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my qbeloved son; perhaps they will respect him.’ 14But when the tenants saw him, they said to themselves, rThis is the heir. sLet us kill him, so that the inheritance may be ours.’

John 15:16
