Matthew 21:37-41

37Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, aThis is the heir. Come, blet us kill him and have his inheritance.’ 39And they took him and cthrew him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 dWhen therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?” 41They said to him, e“He will put those wretches to a miserable death and flet out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”

Luke 21:20-24

Jesus Foretells Destruction of Jerusalem

20But owhen you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that pits desolation has come near. 21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, 22for these are qdays of rvengeance, to fulfill sall that is written. 23 tAlas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and uwrath against this people. 24They will fall by the edge of the sword and vbe led captive among all nations, and wJerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, xuntil the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

Luke 23:28-31

28But turning to them Jesus said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29For behold, ythe days are coming when they will say, zBlessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ 30 aaThen they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’ 31For abif they do these things when acthe wood is green, what will happen adwhen it is dry?”
