Matthew 21:38-44

38But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, aThis is the heir. Come, blet us kill him and have his inheritance.’ 39And they took him and cthrew him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 dWhen therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?” 41They said to him, e“He will put those wretches to a miserable death and flet out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”

42Jesus said to them, g“Have you never read in the Scriptures:

h“‘The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
Greek  the head of the corner

this was the Lord’s doing,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
43Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God jwill be taken away from you and given to a people kproducing its fruits. 44And lthe one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and mwhen it falls on anyone, it will crush him.”

32 pFill up, then, the measure of your fathers. 33You serpents, qyou brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to rhell? 34 sTherefore tI send you uprophets and wise men and vscribes, wsome of whom you will kill and crucify, and xsome you will yflog in your synagogues and zpersecute from town to town, 35so that on you may come all aathe righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous abAbel to the blood of acZechariah the son of Barachiah,

How often would I have ajgathered akyour children together alas a hen gathers her brood amunder her wings, and anyou were not willing! 38See, aoyour house is left to you desolate. 39For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, apBlessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”

Luke 11:49-51

49Therefore also aqthe Wisdom of God said, ar‘I will send them asprophets and apostles, atsome of whom they will aukill and persecute,’ 50so that avthe blood of all the prophets, shed awfrom the foundation of the world, may be axcharged against this generation, 51from the blood of ayAbel to the blood of azZechariah, who perished between bathe altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be bbrequired of this generation.

Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem

41 bcAnd when he drew near and saw the city, bdhe wept over it, 42saying, beWould that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now bfthey are hidden from your eyes. 43For bgthe days will come upon you, when your enemies bhwill set up a barricade around you and bisurround you and hem you in on every side 44 bjand tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And bkthey will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know blthe time of your bmvisitation.”

John 15:22-24

22If I had not come and spoken to them, bnthey would not have been guilty of sin,
Greek  they would not have sin; also verse 24
but now they have no excuse for their sin.
23 bpWhoever hates me hates my Father also. 24 bqIf I had not done among them the works that no one else did, brthey would not be guilty of sin, but now they have bsseen and hated both me and my Father.
