12 And he said to him, ^a‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and ^bcast him into the outer darkness. In that place ^cthere will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ 14 For many are ^dcalled, but few are ^echosen.”

Matthew 25:5-12

5 As the bridegroom ^fwas delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. 6 But ^gat midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ 7 Then all those virgins rose and ^htrimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and ⁱthose who were ready went in with him to ^jthe marriage feast, and ^kthe door was shut. 11 Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ^l‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 12 ^mBut he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, ⁿI do not know you.’

Matthew 25:19-33

19 Now ^oafter a long time the master of those servants came and ^psettled accounts with them. 20 And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ 21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and ^qfaithful servant. ^{▼▼Greek bondservant; also verses 23, 26, 30} ^sYou have been faithful over a little; ^tI will set you over much. Enter into ^uthe joy of your master.’ 22 And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’ 23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ 24 He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be ^va hard man, reaping ^wwhere you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, 25 so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, ^xyou have what is yours.’ 26 But his master answered him, ‘You ^ywicked and ^zslothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? 27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. 29 ^aaFor to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And ^abcast ^acthe worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place ^adthere will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

The Final Judgment

31 ^ae“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, ^afthen he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him ^agwill be gathered ^ahall the nations, and ^aihe will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates ^ajthe sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-10

7 and to grant ^akrelief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when ^althe Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven ^amwith his mighty angels 8 ^anin flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those ^aowho do not know God and on those who ^apdo not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will suffer the punishment of ^aqeternal destruction, ^araway from ^{▼▼Or destruction that comes from} the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 10 ^atwhen he comes on ^authat day ^avto be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our ^awtestimony to you ^axwas believed.

Revelation of John 20:12-15

12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and ^aybooks were opened. Then another book was opened, which is ^azthe book of life. And ^bathe dead were judged by what was written in the books, ^bbaccording to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, ^bcDeath and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, ^bdaccording to what they had done. 14 Then ^beDeath and Hades ^bfwere thrown into the lake of fire. This is ^bgthe second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, ^bhhe was thrown into the lake of fire.
