Matthew 23:4-12

4 aThey tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear,
Some manuscripts omit  hard to bear
and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.
5 cThey do all their deeds dto be seen by others. For they make etheir phylacteries broad and ftheir fringes long, 6and they glove the place of honor at feasts and hthe best seats in the synagogues 7and igreetings in jthe marketplaces and being called krabbi
Rabbi means my teacher, or my master; also verse 8
by others.
8 mBut you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are nall brothers.
Or  brothers and sisters
9 pAnd call no man your father on earth, for qyou have one Father, who is in heaven. 10Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, rthe Christ. 11 sThe greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 tWhoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
