34 bIt is like a man cgoing on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants ▼▼Greek bondservants
in charge, eeach with his work, and commands fthe doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 gTherefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, hin the evening, or iat midnight, or jwhen the rooster crows, ▼▼That is, the third watch of the night, between midnight and 3 a.m.
or lin the morning— 36lest mhe come suddenly and nfind you asleep. Luke 12:45-46
45But if that servant says to himself, ‘My master ois delayed in coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and pget drunk, 46the master of that servant will come qon a day when he does not expect him and rat an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful.
