Matthew 24:9-13

9 “Then ^athey will deliver you up ^bto tribulation and ^cput you to death, and ^dyou will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then many will fall away ^{▼▼Or stumble} and ^fbetray one another and hate one another. 11 And many ^gfalse prophets will arise ^hand lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, ⁱthe love of many will grow cold. 13 ^jBut the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Matthew 24:24

24 For ^kfalse christs and ^lfalse prophets will arise and ^mperform great signs and wonders, ⁿso as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

The Day of the Lord

1 Now concerning ^othe times and the seasons, brothers, ^{▼▼Or brothers and sisters; also verses 4, 12, 14, 25, 26, 27} ^qyou have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that ^rthe day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then ^ssudden destruction will come upon them ^tas labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Hebrews 10:23-26

23 ^uLet us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for ^vhe who promised is faithful. 24 And ^wlet us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 ^xnot neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and ^yall the more as you see ^zthe Day drawing near.

James 5:1-8

Warning to the Rich

1 Come now, ^adyou rich, weep and howl for the ^aemiseries that are coming upon you. 2 ^afYour riches have rotted and ^agyour garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. ^ahYou have laid up treasure ^aiin the last days. 4 Behold, ^ajthe wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and ^akthe cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of ^althe Lord of hosts. 5 ^amYou have lived on the earth in luxury and ^anin self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in ^aoa day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and ^apmurdered ^aqthe righteous person. He does not resist you.

Patience in Suffering

7 Be patient, therefore, brothers, ^{▼▼Or brothers and sisters; also verses 9, 10, 12, 19} until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives ^asthe early and the late rains. 8 You also, be patient. ^atEstablish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord ^auis at hand.
