Matthew 26:3-4

3 aThen the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in bthe palace of the high priest, whose name was cCaiaphas, 4 dand plotted together in order to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.

18And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and ewere seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because fall the crowd was astonished at his teaching.

12And gthey were seeking to arrest him hbut feared the people, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them. So they ileft him and went away.

The Plot to Kill Jesus

1 jIt was now two days before kthe Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes lwere seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him,

John 7:19

19 mHas not Moses given you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. nWhy do you seek to kill me?”

John 7:44

44 oSome of them wanted to arrest him, but no one laid hands on him.

John 8:37-40

37I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet pyou seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you. 38 qI speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard rfrom your father.”

You Are of Your Father the Devil

39They answered him, sAbraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, tIf you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works Abraham did, 40but now uyou seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth vthat I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did.

John 10:39

39 wAgain they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.
