39 And going a little farther he fell on his face ^aand prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let ^bthis cup pass from me; ^cnevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” 40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? 41 ^dWatch and ^epray that you ^fmay not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 42 Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, ^gyour will be done.”

Matthew 26:44

44 So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for ^hthe third time, saying the same words again.

Luke 22:42

42 saying, ⁱ“Father, if you are willing, remove ^jthis cup from me. ^kNevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

The High Priestly Prayer

1 When Jesus had spoken these words, ^lhe lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, ^mthe hour has come; ⁿglorify your Son that the Son may ^oglorify you, 2 since ^pyou have given him authority over all flesh, ^qto give eternal life to all ^rwhom you have given him. 3 ^sAnd this is eternal life, ^tthat they know you, ^uthe only ^vtrue God, and ^wJesus Christ whom you have sent. 4 I ^xglorified you on earth, ^yhaving accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, ^zglorify me in your own presence with the glory ^aathat I had with you ^abbefore the world existed.

20 “I do not ^bvask for these only, but also for those ^bwwho will believe in me through their word, 21 ^bxthat they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that ^bythey also may be in ^bzus, so that the world ^camay believe that you have sent me. 22 ^cbThe glory that you have given me ^ccI have given to them, ^cdthat they may be one even as we are one, 23 ^ceI in them and you in me, ^cfthat they may become perfectly one, ^cgso that the world may know that you sent me and ^chloved them even as ^ciyou loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be ^cjwith me ^ckwhere I am, ^clto see my glory that you have given me because you loved me ^cmbefore the foundation of the world. 25 ^cnO righteous Father, even though ^cothe world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26 ^cpI made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love ^cqwith which you have loved me may be in them, and ^crI in them.”
