Matthew 26:59-68

59Now the chief priests and the whole council
Greek Sanhedrin
bwere seeking false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death,
60but they found none, cthough many false witnesses came forward. At last dtwo came forward 61and said, “This man said, e‘I am able to fdestroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days.’” 62And the high priest stood up and said, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”
Or Have you no answer to what these men testify against you?
63 hBut Jesus remained silent. iAnd the high priest said to him, j“I adjure you by kthe living God, ltell us if you are mthe Christ, nthe Son of God.” 64Jesus said to him, oYou have said so. But I tell you, from now on pyou will see the Son of Man qseated at the right hand of Power and rcoming on the clouds of heaven.” 65Then the high priest store his robes and said, t“He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy. 66What is your judgment?” They answered, u“He deserves death.” 67Then vthey spit in his face wand xstruck him. And some slapped him, 68saying, “Prophesy to us, you yChrist! Who is it that struck you?”

Mark 14:55-65

were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none.
56 aaFor many bore false witness against him, but their testimony abdid not agree. 57And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, 58 acWe heard him say, adI will destroy this temple aethat is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, afnot made with hands.’” 59Yet even about this their testimony did not agree. 60And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”

61But ahhe remained silent and made no answer. aiAgain the high priest asked him, “Are you ajthe Christ, the Son of akthe Blessed?” 62And Jesus said, I am, and alyou will see the Son of Man amseated at the right hand of Power, and ancoming with the clouds of heaven.” 63And the high priest aotore his garments and said, “What further witnesses do we need? 64You have heard aphis blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they aqall condemned him as ardeserving death. 65 asAnd some began atto spit on him and auto cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, “Prophesy!” And the guards received him avwith blows.

John 18:22

22When he had said these things, one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, aw“Is that how you answer the high priest?”
