Matthew 27:19

19Besides, while he was sitting on athe judgment seat, his wife sent word to him, “Have nothing to do with bthat righteous man, for I have suffered much because of him today cin a dream.”

Matthew 27:22-25

22Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” dThey all said, “Let him be crucified!” 23And he said, “Why? eWhat evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Let him be crucified!”

Pilate Delivers Jesus to Be Crucified

24So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that fa riot was beginning, he took water and gwashed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of hthis man’s blood;

A Roman judicial penalty, consisting of a severe beating with a multi-lashed whip containing imbedded pieces of bone and metal
Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

Luke 23:4-5

4Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, p“I find no guilt in this man.” 5But they were urgent, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, qfrom Galilee even to this place.”

Luke 23:14-16

14and said to them, “You brought me this man ras one who was misleading the people. And safter examining him before you, behold, I tdid not find this man guilty of any of your charges against him. 15Neither did Herod, for uhe sent him back to us. Look, nothing deserving death has been done by him. 16 vI will therefore punish and release him.”
Here, or after verse 19, some manuscripts add verse 17: Now he was obliged to release one man to them at the festival


Luke 23:21-25

21but they kept shouting, “Crucify, crucify him!” 22A third time he said to them, “Why, xWhat evil has he done? yI have found in him no guilt deserving death. zI will therefore punish and release him.” 23But they were urgent, demanding with loud cries that he should be crucified. And their voices prevailed. 24So Pilate decided that their demand should be granted. 25He released the man who had been thrown into prison aafor insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, abbut he delivered Jesus over to their will.

Acts 3:13-14
