Matthew 27:26-31

26Then he released for them Barabbas, and having ascourged
A Roman judicial penalty, consisting of a severe beating with a multi-lashed whip containing imbedded pieces of bone and metal
Jesus, delivered him to be crucified.

Jesus Is Mocked

27 cThen the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the dgovernor’s headquarters,
Greek  the praetorium
and they gathered the whole fbattalion
Greek cohort; a tenth of a Roman legion, usually about 600 men
before him.
28And they stripped him and put ha scarlet robe on him, 29and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they imocked him, saying, “Hail, jKing of the Jews!” 30And kthey spit on him and took the reed and struck him on the head. 31And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe and put his own clothes on him and lled him away to crucify him.

Mark 15:15-20

15So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released for them Barabbas, and having mscourged

and they called together the whole sbattalion.

17And they clothed him in ua purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him. 18And they began to salute him, vHail, King of the Jews!” 19And they were striking his head with a reed and wspitting on him and xkneeling down in homage to him. 20And when they had ymocked him, they stripped him of zthe purple cloak and put his own clothes on him. And they aaled him out to crucify him.

Luke 23:24

24So Pilate decided that their demand should be granted.
