63and said, “Sir, we remember how athat impostor said, while he was still alive, bAfter three days I will rise.’ 64Therefore order the tomb to be made secure until the third day, clest his disciples go and steal him away and tell the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last fraud will be worse than the first.” 65Pilate said to them, “You have da guard
Or Take a guard
of soldiers. Go, make it as secure as you can.”
66So they went and made the tomb secure by fsealing the stone and setting a guard.

Matthew 28:11-15

The Report of the Guard

11While they were going, behold, some of gthe guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. 12And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers 13and said, “Tell people, hHis disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14And if this comes to ithe governor’s ears, we will jsatisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews kto this day.

Acts 2:24

24 lGod raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because mit was not possible for him to be held by it.

Acts 10:40-42

40but nGod raised him on othe third day and made him to pappear, 41 qnot to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as rwitnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42And she commanded us to preach to the people and to testify tthat he is the one appointed by God to be judge uof the living and the dead.

Acts 13:29-41

29And when vthey had carried out all that was written of him, wthey took him down from xthe tree and laid him in a tomb. 30But yGod raised him from the dead, 31and for many days zhe appeared to those aawho had come up with him abfrom Galilee to Jerusalem, acwho are now adhis witnesses to the people. 32And we bring you the good news aethat what God promised to the fathers, 33 afthis he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm,

ag“‘You are my Son,
today I have begotten you.’
34And as for the fact that he raised him from the dead, ah, aino more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way,

“‘I will give you ajthe holy and sure blessings of David.’
35Therefore he says also in another psalm,

ak“‘You will not let your Holy One see corruption.’
36For David, after he had alserved the purpose of God in his own generation, amfell asleep and anwas laid with his fathers and saw corruption, 37but he whom aoGod raised up did not see corruption. 38Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, apthat through this man aqforgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39and by him areveryone who believes is freed
Greek justified; twice in this verse
from everything atfrom which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.
40Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about:

41 au“‘Look, you scoffers,
be astounded and perish;
for I am doing a work in your days,
a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.’”
