A Tree and Its Fruit
15 b“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are cravenous wolves. 16You will recognize them dby their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17So, eevery healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 fEvery tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus you will recognize them gby their fruits.Matthew 21:19
19 hAnd seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.Luke 13:7-9

2 jEvery branch in me that does not bear fruit khe takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, lthat it may bear more fruit. 3Already myou are clean nbecause of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 oAbide pin me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5I am the vine; qyou are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that rbears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not abide in me she is thrown away like a branch and withers; tand the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7If uyou abide in me, and my words abide in you, vask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 wBy this my Father is glorified, that you xbear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
