Matthew 3:9-10

9And do not presume to say to yourselves, a‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from bthese stones to raise up children for Abraham. 10Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. cEvery tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Matthew 8:11-12

11I tell you, dmany will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12 ewhile the sons of the kingdom fwill be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place gthere will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

And he answered, ‘I go, sir,’ but did not go. 31Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, Truly, I say to you, nthe tax collectors and othe prostitutes go into pthe kingdom of God before you.
