Matthew 5:17-18

Christ Came to Fulfill the Law

17 ^a“Do not think that I have come to abolish ^bthe Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but ^cto fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, ^duntil heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

Acts 13:38-39

38 Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, ^ethat through this man ^fforgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39 and by him ^geveryone who believes is freed ^{▼▼Greek justified; twice in this verse} from everything ⁱfrom which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

Romans 3:20-22

20 For ^jby works of the law no human being ^{▼▼Greek flesh} will be justified in his sight, since ^lthrough the law comes knowledge of sin.

The Righteousness of God Through Faith

21 But now ^mthe righteousness of God ⁿhas been manifested apart from the law, although ^othe Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God ^pthrough faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. ^qFor there is no distinction:

Romans 7:7-9

The Law and Sin

7 What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, ^rI would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if ^sthe law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, ^tseizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. ^uFor apart from the law, sin lies dead. 9 I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died.

Romans 7:24-25

24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from ^vthis body of death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

Galatians 2:19
