Matthew 5:20

20For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds athat of the scribes and Pharisees, you bwill never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Acts 5:2-11

2and with his wife’s knowledge che kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and dlaid it at the apostlesfeet. 3But Peter said, “Ananias, why has eSatan filled your heart to lie fto the Holy Spirit and gto keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? 4While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but hto God.” 5When Ananias heard these words, he ifell down and breathed his last. And jgreat fear came upon all who heard of it. 6The young men rose and kwrapped him up and carried him out and buried him.

7After an interval of about three hours his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8And Peter said to her, “Tell me whether you

sold the land for so much.” And she said, “Yes, for so much.”
9But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together mto test nthe Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” 10Immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. 11And ogreat fear came upon the whole church and upon all who heard of these things.

Acts 8:20-23

20But Peter said to him, p“May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God qwith money! 21You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for ryour heart is not right before God. 22Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, sif possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you. 23For I see that you are in tthe gall
That is, a bitter fluid secreted by the liver; bile
of bitterness and in vthe bond of iniquity.”

1 Corinthians 4:5

5Therefore wdo not pronounce judgment before the time, xbefore the Lord comes, ywho will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. zThen each one will receive his commendation from God.
