31 a“It was also said, bWhoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 cBut I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and dwhoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Matthew 19:9

9 eAnd I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”
Some manuscripts add and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery; other manuscripts  except for sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery


Luke 16:18

Divorce and Remarriage

18 gEveryone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

Romans 7:3

3Accordingly, hshe will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress.

1 Corinthians 7:4

4For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.

1 Corinthians 7:10-11

10To the married iI give this charge (not I, but the Lord): jthe wife should not separate from her husband 11(but if she does, kshe should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and lthe husband should not divorce his wife.

Hebrews 13:4

4 mLet marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge nthe sexually immoral and adulterous.
