Matthew 6:1

Giving to the Needy

1Beware of apracticing your righteousness before other people in order bto be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

Luke 6:32-35

32 cIf you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34And dif you elend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. 35But flove your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and gyou will be sons of hthe Most High, for ihe is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

1 Peter 2:20-23

20For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But jif when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. 21For kto this you have been called, lbecause Christ also suffered for you, mleaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 22 nHe committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. 23 oWhen he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, pbut continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.
