Ask, and It Will Be Given

7 aAsk, band it will be given to you; cseek, and you will find; dknock, and it will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9Or which one of you, if his son asks him for ebread, will give him fa stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11If you then, gwho are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will hyour Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

19Again I say to you, if two of you iagree on earth about anything they ask, jit will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

The Parable of the Persistent Widow

1And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought talways to pray and not ulose heart. 2He said, In a certain city there was a judge who vneither feared God nor respected man. 3And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ 4For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, wThough I neither fear God nor respect man, 5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” 6And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge says. 7And xwill not God give justice to yhis elect, zwho cry to him day and night? aa, abWill he delay long over them? 8I tell you, he will give justice to them acspeedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, adwill he find faith on earth?”

John 14:13

13 aeWhatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that afthe Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 15:7

7If agyou abide in me, and my words abide in you, ahask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
