The Harvest Is Plentiful, the Laborers Few

35 aAnd Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 bWhen he saw the crowds, che had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, dlike sheep without a shepherd. 37 eThen he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38therefore fpray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to gsend out laborers into his harvest.”

1 hAnd he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. 2 iThe names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, jwho is called Peter, and kAndrew his brother; lJames the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and mMatthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;
