Nehemiah 1:3-4

3And they said to me, “The remnant there in the province who had survived the exile is in great trouble and ashame. bThe wall of Jerusalem is broken down, cand its gates are destroyed by fire.”

Nehemiah’s Prayer

4As soon as I heard these words I dsat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the eGod of heaven.

Nehemiah 2:3

3I said to the king, f“Let the king live forever! Why should not my face be sad, gwhen the city, the place of my fathersgraves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?”

Job 2:12-13

12And when they saw him from a distance, they did not recognize him. And they raised their voices and wept, and they htore their robes and sprinkled idust on their heads toward heaven. 13And they sat with him on the ground jseven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his suffering was very great.

Jeremiah 13:17-18

17But if you will not listen,
kmy soul will weep in secret for your pride;
my eyes will weep bitterly and run down with tears,
because the Lord’s flock has been taken captive.
18 Say to lthe king and mthe queen mother:
“Take a lowly seat,
for nyour beautiful crown
has come down from your head.”

Jeremiah 15:17

nor did I rejoice;
pI sat alone, because your hand was upon me,

Lamentations 2:10

10 The elders of the daughter of Zion

the young women of Jerusalem
have bowed their heads to the ground.

Ezekiel 3:15

15 uAnd I came to the exiles at Tel-abib, who were dwelling vby the Chebar canal, and I sat where they were dwelling.
Or  Chebar, and to where they dwelt
And xI sat there yoverwhelmed among them zseven days.
