Nehemiah 13:10-13

10I also found out that athe portions of the Levites had not been given to them, so that the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled each bto his field. 11 cSo I confronted the officials and said, dWhy is the house of God forsaken?” And I gathered them together and set them in their stations. 12Then all Judah brought ethe tithe of the grain, wine, and oil into the storehouses. 13And fI appointed as treasurers over the storehouses Shelemiah the priest, Zadok the scribe, and Pedaiah of the Levites, and as their assistant Hanan the son of Zaccur, son of Mattaniah, gfor they were considered reliable, and their duty was to distribute to their brothers.

1 Corinthians 9:9-14

9For it is written in the Law of Moses, h“You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain.” Is it for oxen that God is concerned? 10Does he not certainly speak for our sake? It was written ifor our sake, because jthe plowman should plow in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of sharing in the crop. 11 kIf we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? 12If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more?

Nevertheless, lwe have not made use of this right, but we endure anything mrather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.
13Do you not know that nthose who are employed in the temple service get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the sacrificial offerings? 14In the same way, the Lord commanded that othose who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.
